One of the magazines that I love and cherish is having financial troubles during this global recession which in turn has taken its toll on advertisers which have slashed their spending. So Paste Magazine has decided to turn to their readers to help bridge the gap. All Paste is asking for is a small contribution, and that can make a huge difference. Heima

Metavari live at Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea Company

If you've ever seen the documentary, Heima ... picture that (only 1/100 as brilliant since we're talking about us rather than Sigur Rós) in a small town in the hills of Pennsylvania. Clean air, spring in full bloom, canyons and hills just beyond every string of houses, small shops and businesses on every corner, and an old home whose first floor is dedicated to the town's finest coffees and teas. Wood floors, tall ceilings, an old piano, a black lab named "Abraham" who sits at the landing of the flight of stairs up to the second floor ... and us ... setting up for our performance in the BFC&T living room. Just in front of the piano. By the time we were ready, the room was filled with who would later be all our friends in Beaver Falls. The live visuals were projected onto a far wall, one PA speaker on top of a bookshelf, the other on top of the piano. We were all inches away from one another. Intimate and, like in Heima, seemed to be just another performance among the local music lovers of Beaver Falls. After the show, we left everything in the living room and moved to the front yard. A fire pit kept our faces illuminated into the night while we laughed and talked until we couldn't keep our eyes open.

The evening was too perfect for any of us to remember to take any photos or video. You'll have to watch Heima ... and then watch Home Alone. It was probably somewhere in between those two.

I'm not going to walk today

Grizzly Bear on Late Show with David Letterman

Okay last night Grizzly Bear was supposed to play on Late Show with David Letterman which is really cool because I love Grizzly Bear ... I set my DVR so I didn't have to stay up that late, but I found myself up that late anyway so I decided to watch it ... Good thing because the show went over ... So now I'm waiting for Grizzly Bear to come on, but no all I see is David Letterman at the end of the commercial break saying goodnight and that they don't have enough time for Grizzly Bear and they're going to have to reschedule them ... WHAT! WHY!? You're going to have to reschedule them some other time! Ugh it just really ticked me off that they couldn't just go over a little bit, just for the band ... I'm sure they could have took some air time off an infomercial instead of telling Grizzly Bear sorry you're going to have to come back another time ... I really hope they did apologize for the inconvenience ... Because I know I would have been furious ... Yeah I'm sure that Grizzly Bear has nothing better to do than to keep flying back to Letterman, and hope that the show doesn't go over again ... This isn't the first time either something like this has happened, when I set my DVR to record his show when Manchester Orchestra was on, the showing went over too! I was sooo freaking mad I didn't get to see the entire performance! Oh well nothing I can do about it now, thought I would rant.
